Just a stone’s throw away from the famous World Fashion Centre in Amsterdam, the XO Hotels Couture is located in Amsterdam’s Delflandlaan district. Do not be fooled by its somewhat sparse surroundings! This little oasis is just far enough from the bustling centre to provide a peaceful stay, but close enough that it only takes 15 minutes to get to some of the best sights of the city. Managed by hotel staff who speaks Dutch, German and English, the Best Western Premier Hotel Couture is 100% clean and 100% smoke free.

Stylish rooms with beautiful bathroom fittings

The rooms are stylish with all the most modern facilities. Typically, European hotels come complete with a three-flight hike up the stairs with suitcases in tow. Lucky for travellers to this particular hotel, there are elevators to do the heavy lifting. However, if you want a double bed, you will get it the form of two single beds being pushed together. You may find yourself slowly drifting away from your loved one as the beds come apart. The bathroom fittings are beautiful and very clean, obviously the markings of a new hotel. Each room comes complete with an internal coffee machine so that the weary eyes don’t have to change out of pyjamas before the morning brew. Free Wi-Fi, a flat screen TV and air-conditioning are all standard in the rooms.

Plenty to eat and drink in and around the hotel’s vicinity

The Italian restaurant, Restaurant Dolce, offers breakfast and dinner at a charge. With a selection of modern Italian cooking for the evening offering and a large buffet for breakfast, there is no chance of going hungry at this hotel! For 15 Euro, breakfast is served with flair. Brought straight up to your room, you will be pleased with the selection of croissants, ham, eggs, mushrooms, tomato and plenty of other earthly delights. You will not be hungry again until dinnertime with the extensive selection. For a drink or a coffee, you can head down to the bar where the surly bartenders will offer you drinks with strict precision.

While the restaurant offerings surrounding the hotel are not quite as extensive as you’d hope, there is a lovely Lebanese (Cedars Lebanese restaurant) just down the road and some beautiful bakeries just a few tram stops away. Just a short distance away, there is a great local spot called Soweso, where no one speaks English but the food is to die for! And in typical European fashion, you won’t leave hungry!

Taxis in Amsterdam will cost you an absolute fortune because cars are generally uncommon. People get around on two feet or two wheels. Cycling through the city is a great way to see the city through the eyes of a local, but you may want to get closer into the centre before you start that journey. Straight outside the front door of the hotel is a tram stop that winds through the quaint streets of Amsterdam and takes you right into the centre station. From that point, Amsterdam really is your oyster. Whether you choose to hop on a bike, or join a tour bus, Amsterdam is so easy to navigate.

XO Hotels Couture: An oasis for weekenders in the capital of Netherlands!

There are so many great things to see and do in the city. About 10 minutes from the hotel on the tram, you will find yourself at the Van Gogh museum. Head there early in the morning to avoid the crowds and for an amazing vista of the canals in the morning. Take a photo in front of the famous IAMSTERDAM sign and then walk around the little market stalls that line the streets. Follow the tram line to make it to the Hard Rock Cafe, the Holland Casino, and the Heineken factory, which are all great sights to see!

From any of these spots, you can find your way to the famed Anne Frank museum, a must-do for tourists travelling through the city. You will find a new sense of serenity as you visit the tiny little house on the side of the canal that will live on in infamy. Damsquare will leave you with a sense of awe as tourists bustle through the streets in and out of chain stores. If you make time to shop, travel through Amsterdam’s side streets, where you will find the likes of Zara and H&M mixed with a range of local boutiques.
