Situated in the western Philippines, Botolan is a municipality in Zambales province. Botolan is a real charmer and worthy of exploration with many intriguing things to see and do, such as beautiful beaches and fascinating indigenous culture. If you’re a thrill seeker, an enticing lure here is Mount Pinatubo - an active volcano that erupted in 1991! Mount Pinatubo Crater Lake is also a must-see sight here, formed due to the volcanic eruption. For animal lovers, a top tourist attraction is Botolan Wildlife Farm, a refuge where visitors can enjoy an intimate experience with exotic wildlife. Capayawan Beach, Botolan, Zambales, and Zambali Beach are places where you can have fun. Hiking enthusiasts will love Tukal Tukal Falls.
If your curiosity about Botolan is aroused and you want to stay by the ocean, you should book beachfront accommodations, and the neighboring town of Masinloc has its share of beach resorts. However, if you want to stay within Botolan, scroll down for the best beach resorts in Botolan, Philippines.
Getting to Mount Pinatubo:
Though situated within the borders of Botolan, the best way to get to the volcano and the iconic crater lake is from the neighboring town of Capas, with the New York Times calling it “Pinatubo’s best-known gateway”. Tourists usually navigate the trail with a jeepney ride and a trek and various travel agencies offer the experience as a package. In July and August, when the rains arrive in this section of the country, the trails sometimes flood, and tours to the volcano are suspended, so plan your visit accordingly! Even if I’m on a beach vacation, I would certainly try and visit the volcano while I’m in the area.
We handpicked these listings carefully, considering (wherever possible) recent guest reviews, location, accommodation type, prices, availability of dates, decor, and access to beach. The image galleries get refreshed with the latest updates regularly. They were last updated on April 14, 2024.
Beach life in Botolan, Philippines
Almost the entire length of Botolan’s shores boasts pristine sands, and the area has recently become popular with surfers. Capayawan Beach is perhaps Botolan’s most famous beach and the sunsets here are bound to be beautiful, and I wouldn’t mind just lounging here all evening.
The Philippines’ rainy season extends from June to November and Zambales receives the most rainfall in August. It would be best to schedule your beach vacation to avoid the season to make the most of the sea and sands.

With no TV or WiFi here, guests can easily disconnect from the outside world. This is a fabulous, private beach lodging located within Botolan Point Beach. Furthermore, it boasts a setting filled with colorful flowers and rich greenery. This accommodation is comprised of four huts that showcase a lovely traditional bahay-kubo style architecture with a modern flair.
