Situated in the 11th-century Kasbah in the old city (Medina), the museum will welcome you with a large vault. Pay careful attention to the vault as it displays the story of Sahel region from the period of Antiquity to the period of Muslim. Once you get to the main courtyard, you will be amazed at an impressive collection of mosaics, sculptures and lapidaries, among other items. The Roman mosaics from the second and third centuries are among the best collection of the museum. Added with both artificial and natural lighting, the collection even looks more impressive. You should not miss the three major rooms, starting with The Punic Room that displays a collection of steles and urns found in the Tophet of Sousse and several items which originated in the tombs in the Kasbah, followed by The Roman Room that is famous for its collection of terracotta figurines, and ending with The Christian Room where you can admire the famous funerary table of Hermes.
