You will find booths selling various Indonesian foods and beverages. One of the must-try is ‘lontong kikil’. Kikil is beef skin curry served with several pieces of rice cake called 'lontong’. These rice cakes are especially fragrant and comes in the form of cubes. Wrapped in banana leaf, the rice would be steamed to perfection and complements the kikil.

The booths, almost all of them designed with wooden structure, are very unique. They resemble those that belong to food hawkers found on Surabaya’s streets. Each booth is different, depending on the type of food served. Some booths are simply low tables with partitions to put food and utensils while some are taller with a roof.

Free concerts and performances

Nothing is cooler in Surabaya than hanging out in SUTOS on a weekend night. Weekends are usually crowded but it is the most exciting time to visit. On Friday and Saturday nights, this is the place where many Surabaya’s youngsters dine, hang out and see various performances.

This is also one of the few places in Surabaya where you can see concerts of famous artists for free!
