There is actually a Swan Lake in Tulsa, and it is home to plenty of —you guessed it— swans. This elegant private suite is just by the lake, and it is part of a converted Colonial-era farmhouse that is nearly 100 years old. Downtown Tulsa is a lively home to a good variety of museums and performance venues, so you can keep yourself occupied besides the usual eateries and shopping malls. A must-see attraction of the city is the Gilcrease Museum, about five minutes away from downtown, which features one of the world’s largest collections of Western and native American art and artefacts. Sand Springs is largely a suburb of Tulsa, but as it is on the western boundaries of the city, there are some interesting countryside accommodation available, such as this outstanding lakeside log cabin on a 350-acre (141.6-hectare) ranch. Enjoy waking up next to a crystal-clear lake, with country breakfast provided by the ranch, and then spending the day fishing and hiking on the premises. The ranch can also organize activities such as campfires, archery lessons, tomahawk throwing and animal feeding.
